HISTORY OF WHITETAIL
A vision of luxury built on a foundation of legacy.

The expansive beauty and tranquility of Whitetail Club & Resort dates back to 1948 when it originally opened as the Shore Lodge, holding its first guests ransom with room rates ranging anywhere from $4 to $15 per night. After more than 50 years, the Shore Lodge closed its doors and the construction and rebirth of Whitetail began.

With the vision of the Manchester family, the Shore Lodge was transformed from a lakeside motel to a luxury resort. The room inventory diminished from 116 rooms to 77 and unprecedented luxuries were added including libraries, lush sitting rooms, McCall's only movie theater and virtual golf entity, game room, indoor basketball and racquetball courts, tennis, massage, private beaches, 18-hole championship golf course, stocked fishing ponds, private boat docks, fitness room, and the Pavilion-a spectacular public space adding over 5,500 additional square feet of lakefront meeting and event space.

Today, the resort pays homage throughout the property to its rich history and long-standing traditions and memories.
